In general, it is recommended to avoid strenuous exercise an hour and a half before going to bed. According to sleep science coach Steven Wright, many people choose to exercise late at night to sleep better because they are tired, but in fact, exercising prevents them from sleeping properly.
“Avoid exercise that makes you sweat an hour before bed,” he said. “If you feel the need to use your energy, choose exercise such as pilates, yoga, or evening walks. Exercise, which focuses on relieving muscle tension, reduces pain and helps sleep, he said.
