Hong Seok Cheon

Seok Cheon or Tony Hong is considered to be the role model for so many LBGT people in Korea. He has so many friends who are famous Korean celebrities. It is because he is the first Korean celebrity to come out of the closet ever! When he used to be a comedian(2000), he confessed that he is gay on TV, and even if the editors tried to take it out, Seok Cheon didn’t back away. After coming out though he lost everything. They fired him from all of the TV programs he was part of, he wasn’t allowed to be on tv or radio, he was receiving death threats and bullying from netizens and he even had to sell his house to survive. In 2002, even though he wanted to leave, he decided to stay in Korea where he started his first restaurant. Now he owns and runs 9 restaurants and he is also an actor!
