Captain Lee Geun Become The First Korean Volunteer Soldier To Help Ukraine!

Captain Lee Geun, a former Navy Special Forces (UDT), left as a volunteer force to help Ukraine invaded by Russia.

Lee Geun told his YouTube community on the 6th of March, “We haven’t shared our plans with anyone except a few officials. We left for Ukraine a while ago, so now we’re announcing it.”

Former captain Lee has already left for Ukraine. “When the Ukrainian president asked the world for help, ROKSEAL immediately prepared a volunteer military mission,” he said.

However, there was a conflict with the Korean government. “(We) planned, coordinated, and prepared equipment within 48 hours, and initially tried to leave the country through official procedures, but we felt strong opposition from the Korean government.”

He then said, “I was threatened that entering a travel-prohibited country could be treated as a criminal and punished by imprisonment for one year or a fine of 10 million won.”

Nevertheless, I couldn’t stay still. Lee Geun emphasized, “We couldn’t just stay in this situation without helping Ukraine through our skills, knowledge, and expertise just because we were punished.”

He said, “If I go back alive, I will be punished for everything I take responsibility for then.”

Lee Geun said, “As I am the first Korean volunteer soldier, I will raise my status on behalf of Korea,” adding, “Then I will see you in Korea after my mission.”

Dear citizens,

The more you try to do something meaningful, the more the losers in life will always be jealous of you and try to slander you and bring you down.

When the Ukrainian president asked the world for help, ROKSEAL immediately prepared a volunteer military mission. Therefore, on February 28th, the article was posted on the YouTube community and the hint “WE WILL SUPPORT UKRAINE” was announced. I planned, coordinated, and prepared equipment within 48 hours, and initially tried to leave the country through official procedures, but I felt strong opposition from the Korean government, causing friction.

Eventually, we were threatened that entering a travel-prohibited country could be treated as criminals and punished by imprisonment for one year or a fine of 10 million won.

However, even if we are punished, we can’t just stay still in this situation without helping Ukraine through our skills, knowledge, and expertise.

Ignorant people may not understand security, but in this situation, my team had to leave the country without any problems and arrive in Ukraine safely through informal procedures, so we didn’t share our plans with anyone except a few officials.

I left the country not too long ago, so now I’m making this announcement.

I selected my team members myself, and if I go back alive, I will take responsibility for all the punishment I give.

As he is the first Korean volunteer soldier, I will raise his status on behalf of Korea.

Then I’ll see you in Korea after the mission.
