JOOX: Siti Nurhaliza Got 6 Awards & BTS Won 5 Awards But Lose With BLACKPINK

2020 was definitely a challenging year for everyone in the music industry. Despite all the obstacles, artists and producers remained wholeheartedly devoted to creating amazing music for everyone. Today, JOOX, Asia’s most dedicated streaming platform, proudly announced the winners of the 2020 JOOX Top Music Awards in Malaysia to recognize their relentless efforts and achievements in the past year.

The awards are comprised of three parts – 1. Year End 2020 (based on streaming counts from July 1 to December 31, 2020), 2. Full Year 2020 (streaming counts from January 1 to December 31, 2020), and 3. Most Popular Awards (JOOX Malaysia’s users’ votes).

Siti Nurhaliza

The biggest winner is Malaysian diva Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza, who took home 6 awards this year –  “Most Popular Artist: Local”, “Top 5 Artist: Local (Year End 2020)”, and “Top 5 Artist of the Year: Local”. Her song Aku Bidadari Syurgamu also bagged the “Most Popular Song: Local”, “Top 5 Hits: Local (Year End 2020)” and “Top 5 Hits of the Year: Local” awards this year.

International pop star Justin Bieber is also one of the biggest winners with 5 awards in total. He was named to be among the “Top 5 Artists: International (Year End 2020)” and “Top 5 Artists of the Year: International”, while his song Lonely ft. Benny Blanco was awarded as one of this year’s “Top 5 Hits: International (Year End 2020)”. Moreover, his song Stuck with U ft. Ariana Grande and Yummy were also included in the “Top 5 Hits of the Year: International”.

BTS

Interestingly, no one’s going to challenge the charm of K-Pop’s BTS, as the beloved boy group took home 5 awards in 2020. Without a doubt, their song Life Goes On got the “Most Popular: K-Pop” award voted by users.  The hit Dynamite was also named as one of the “Top 5 Hits: K-Pop (Year End 2020)” and “Top 5 Hits of the Year: K-Pop”. Moreover, their song ON was named one of the “Top 5 Hits of the Year: K-Pop” while the hit Who ft. lauv also gained a seat in the “Top 5 Hits of the Year: International”.
